Is Joe Flacco elite? The Baltimore quarterback helped erase that punchline with another ready-made postseason run from a team that caught fire at the right time. The Ravens lost four of their last five regular-season games, but that’s when the Ray Lewis retirement tour started. Baltimore beat Indianapolis in the wild card, then Flacco’s miracle 70-yard touchdown pass to Jacoby Jones forced overtime at Denver. Then, Baltimore beat New England in the AFC championship game to advance to the “Harbaugh Bowl.” Baltimore held off a second-half rally by the 49ers. Lewis retired. Flacco earned a status bump. The Ravens won their second Super Bowl.
Patriots receiver Michael Floyd didn’t play in the Super Bowl or the AFC championship game, but he still will get a championship ring because he did play three games for New England when the Cardinals cut him following a DUI arrest. Sound unfair?
Floyd received plenty of criticism on Twitter after posting a picture of himself kissing the Lombardi Trophy Sunday after the Patriots incredible comeback over the Falcons.
Floyd hauled in just five catches for the Patriots, who gave the 27-year-old a second chance in December after he was arrested on DUI charges, leading to his release by Arizona.
He stayed out of trouble in Boston, in part to living at a hotel Cheap Jerseys Shop and spending most of his time at the team’s facility. Good for him, right?
